Dr. Jegede, Gabriel Gbenga

Dr. Jegede, Gabriel Gbenga, a Reader, graduated with Bachelor of Arts (B.A) honours degree in Religious Studies in 1987 with Second Class (Upper-Division) from Ondo State University, Ado-Ekiti (now Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti). He won Prizes/Awards at his Faculty and departmental levels as the best student in the 1987 graduating class. He obtained his Master of Arts (M.A) in Religious Studies from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria in 2000. He had his Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Religious Studies at the University of Ado-Ekiti (EKSU) in 2009. His core area of specialization is Church History (with special focus on African Independent Churches and Charismatic Movements). Besides, he has been writing and working on Cultural Studies, African Traditional Religion, Peace and Conflict Studies, Church and Politics. Dr. Jegede is a member of the African Association for the Study of Religions (AASR) and other relevant professional associations.
