Welcome to the Department of Theatre and Media Arts, Faculty of Arts, Ekiti State University, Ado- Ekiti, Nigeria; the home of creativity, self-actualization and development of human potentials. The department was founded at the beginning of the 2014/2015 academic session. The Department runs a Bachelor and Diploma Degrees in Theatre and Media Arts. Theatre and Media Arts as a course is divided into many areas of specialization such as: Directing, Acting, Stage Management, Theatre Management and Administration, Technical Theatre which is further compartmentalized into Carpentry, Design, Costuming, Make-up, Media Arts, Public Relation and Advertising. The need to harness and explore the limitless potentialities that abound in the arts to foster a holistic education and self-reliant graduates for national development has necessitated the establishment of Department of Theatre and Media Arts. The course trains students towards professional versatility in the various areas of media Arts; Film/Television/Radio production and Cinematography, Playwriting, Acting, Music and Dance, Furniture-making, Fashion-designing, Painting and Decoration. All the programmes in the Department are fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC) of Nigeria.
